Reverend Charles Steward Named 2015 Wyandot County Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year
On September 24, 2015, Rev. Charles Steward accepted the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award from the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging in Mansfield, OH for his post-retirement contributions to Wyandot County. After finishing his one and only placement as Pastor of the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky (lasting over 40 years!), Charles continued to fulfill his passion of serving people. He currently keeps active as the Volunteer Director of the local Salvation Army's Angel Tree Christmas drive, delivering books to the elderly and shut-in for the local library and staying active within the local Lions Club, where he has held every office position.
Charlotte Leeth named 5th Wyandot County Resident in to the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame
On May 28, 2015, Wyandot County resident Charlotte Leeth will be inducted in to the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame for her contributions to benefit humankind after age 60. Charlotte was nominated by the Council on Aging for her efforts in the Upper Sandusky school district as an English teacher for 35 years, her volunteerism with the county probation office, county youth commission, a local community resource center as an educational mentor and the Wyandot County Historical Society.
